yellow - paint
the other day, while i was washing my car, I realised that my mirrors are a little bit different color than the rest of the car. I would think that a good coat of primer would make the color consistent on aluminum, steel, and plastic; however, the plastic mirrors are not the same color as the rest of my car. Is my baby a bastard, or are all of the cars mirrors a slight darker tint. Is this only true of the yellow cars... or what?
I have white and dont notice any difference, but I did notice on the yellow one I saw at the dealer that there was a slight difference but thought it might have been due to shading or the angle at which I was viewing the car. I opted for white over yellow for a couple reasons. First, the yellow was too noticeable for the way I drive and, second, I figured if I ever needed the car repainted or touched up, it would be impossible to match the color requiring the entire car to be repainted.
By the way, look underneath each of your mirrors, you may find a sticker there which you can remove (mine has an "A" on it).

I just posted a topic about this, except it was for the chin spoiler that doesn't quite match. I'll check my mirrors later on today and post a reply, but I recall them looking like the rest of the body.
John David,
I have a slight yellow variation on the two little rectangular strips on top of the trunk by the convertable top - I think they are part of the setup with the hard top. I noticed it and mentioned it in my quality survey with Honda, but I don't think anyone but an owner would notice or care. I'll check on the mirrors and post the results.

Well fellow yellow, it's not uncommon for the plastic parts of a car to be a different shade. Of course the car is painted in pieces and a lot of different things can influence the way the paint appears when assembled. The yellow is more prone to this problem than other stooks because it is a pearl metallic. The metallic (flakes) that sparkle in the sunlight refract the light at different angles, this causes a slightly different shade of color. Mine has a few variances around the deck lid, it appears to be more orange in that area. No "normal" person would notice it but pearls are tuff to paint even for robots.
