OH yeah he is an idiot and probably weights 350+ lbs. And can't not handle a small car with soo much power out of a 4 cyl.

And why change things that work so well? I believe that honda kept the changes to a minimum on the S cause it worked soo well.
I love my S!!!

Misinformation? How can there be misinformation when it's just opinion? What did he say that was technically wrong? That they aren't selling that well? That his ass doesn't fit the seat?

As for "what do I care". I find the whole idea of identifying with an inanimate object to be an interesting topic. It happens all over the internet. Someone says they don't like a particular thing, Linux or Mac computers or a car and the fanboys cry foul. It's as if criticising a thing is a personal attack because you bought one.

So, that's it, I'm wondering what kind of people identify with their cars so much, someone else not liking it offends them.

I have the opposite reaction, him not liking it makes me feel special because I KNOW I made a good choice.

So what makes your reaction any better? You're merely not vocalizing that sense of smugness you feel when you read that review. You feel special for him not liking the car presumably because you feel he doesn't understand what this car is about. You have a feeling of self satisfaction just like everyone else here but since you aren't vocalizing it you're reaction is somehow better?

Just to clarify my own opinion about this. I wouldn't care if the author didn't like the car if he had actually reviewed the car knowing what the purpose of the car was. He's complaining about things that a sports car buyer doesn't rate high on his priority list. It would be like having my Mom to write a review on the S2000. Totally pointless and stupid because she doesn't understand the car. It doesn't have the features and amenities she comes to expect from a passenger car, but then again it wasn't meant to. It would be like complaining about how the Dodge Caravan does crappy laptimes at Nurburgring.

And I doubt this guy is pulling a huge bunch of hits from us S2000 guys.

This is exactly what I think.

IF you are a true car lover, you'll appreciate the things the S2000 does well. You might not want to own it or like the way it looks, but you know that it does some things well.

This guy's article didn't say anything positive, of worth. In fact his article made no coherent sense. He lists the bad things: 1. Bad thing, 2. Bad thing then goes on to say "the car is fun to drive?" How does that add up?

Cars are sometimes art. But there are also defined ends to cars, making them less subjective than things like art. You can pull #'s on a skid pad, you can measure trunk space, you can measure engine loudness, or even recognize the advances in technology. Add that with the intention of the car and you can come out with a pretty objective view of what the car is like.

Unfortunately the author completely ignores all of the "objective" things and holds an opinion ignorant of the "facts".

It wasn't a bad review because he was bashing on the car, it was a bad review, because he focused solely on his perceptions while at the same time making contradictory and unsupported statements.

[QUOTE=slalom44,Aug 30 2006, 10:07 AM]

My interpretation:

"I found it one of the most uncomfortable, worst-handling roadsters I had ever driven." This means he's fat.
"you are wedged into the cockpit like a tight pair of loafers" This means he's really fat.
"The steering wheel is tiny " He want's a cushy car with tilt steering so he can get his fat butt in and out of the car.

If the guy doesn't like it is fine by me, in my opinion he should eat shit but he has no right to lie to justify his ignorant opinion.

Hmm, by the time I added metallic paint, leather seats and xenon headlamps, the price of the Z4 rose to $38,620. I HATE being chiseled on "options" that should be standard.
