Default Yet another excited new owner....

Hope all you long-timers aren't completely sick yet of seeing these posts but just like all the others I have to say it.

I was drooling over this car in '99 when it came out (while driving a barely modified Civic EX), shortly thereafter the Civic got faster but never anything crazy, still not an S2K. About 2 years ago my then Fiance now Wife and I agreed that if we got a few things in order in a couple of years I could get my dream car. I sold said Civic and have been driving my 40 y/o VW Type-3 since that time. Well the plan was for Nov./Dec. of this year but Saturday we were out goofing around and went for a test drive at the Honda dealership (again), this time unlike the others they let us go out together and on the way back she said to me "lets take it home today". That was all the encouragement I needed.

I'm now officially the proud owner of a brand new '03 Sebring Silver/Black, and the husband of the best wife around. The grin on my face for the last 2 days has made my muscles start to ache .

I've been on the board for a while soaking up research, tips, ideas. Thanks to all so far that have aided in my obsession even though most wouldn't know they did, and thanks in advance for all the future help I'm sure I'll recieve.

Travis

We never get tired of reading these posts. They bring back the memories of when I just got my S2k. The excitement of seeing it for the first time when picking it up at the dealership was overwhelming. I still remember that day which is almost 3 years ago, 08/22/00.

BTW, I can tell you that the 'grin' you've had could last you 3 years like it has with me. Your facial muscles will eventually accept the added strain with pleasure.

I'm sure you know, but check your oil often.

Congratulations! Welcome to a great motoring experience, matched only perhaps by the wonderful S2Ki community.

Thanks Guys, still keep going out to the driveway admiring it, wierd when a long time dream comes true.

I've fully read the owner's manual (seems like there has been more data posted here than was in it, I was expecting more) I know to go relatively easy till the 600 mark, and I'll be sure to check my oil at every fill-up (already done once ). I made a comment a while ago to a post regarding that, said even though I didn't own an S2K yet I didn't see why it would hurt my feelings to open up the hood and stare at that red valve cover once or twice a week...I was right.

That's a great feeling isn't it. You will be doing that for weeks to come.

I have had mine now since the last week of December and I still do that from time to time especially after a nice wash and wax job. I also have too many cats at my residence and periodically have to go check to make sure none got stuck in the car with the garage which leaves more time for gawking.

Congrats on the purchase, take it easy for the first 600 miles, and love your car.

My S will be a three-year-old in November, but I still get all tingly every time I drive it. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that I'm still so obsessive about it. I still cringe when rain drops fall on it and I still have to keep it looking pristine all the time! I was hoping my need to pamper it would fade over time, but I'm still smitten. Last night some guys on my street were playing roller-hockey near my S..... I was a wreck! Even though they were only using tennis balls for pucks, I was like a parent watching his child play near traffic. My girlfriend likes it too, except she has to wear her tightest sports bra when she's a passenger, otherwise it's too painful for her to be in it. The price I pay for a woman with a 36 C chest...
