Default you know what kills me?

when someone takes the effort to post a question thats trouble-shooting related and then they have a rebuttal for every response

Its like they can tell you DEFINITIVELY everything that it ISN'T

I don't know - that just kills me.

happy friday night - its too damn cold out to go drive my S... still waiting for my Spugen to show up...

As one who responds to "trouble shooting" threads, I can only say that it is not easy to diagnose a "car problem" over the internet. Many times, the question has insufficient details to give a precise answer, thus several answers from several people can be all equally valid. Also, many times, the question asker leaves details out that might be pertinent to the diagnosis. A lot questions have to do with a "sound" or some such and trying to relay a specific "sound" by using words is not always the best way to do it. Without being there and feeling the car, listening to the car and seeing the car, it's all guesswork anyway.

wow, both nice statements, but i liked xviper's responce a lot more.
he really is so right... most always people leave out important factors, or try and type out a noise their hear and not using the correct technical name to describe where it comes from.

i agree 100% with xviper - but my point was misunderstood. I'll give you an example. One of my endusers installs KAZAA on their computer. They call me to complain that their machine is slow. I stop by and attempt to fix. I point out KAZAA - they say "Oh - well it isnt that - that works fine." I also point out Weatherbug, Gator ewallet and its associated spyware and also rapidblaster running in the background. "Nope - thats not what it is - the network is slow, fix it" So then I say" Well - what do you think it IS as opposed to what it isn't" They respond, "well - I don't know - thats your job."

Of course in the end I uninstall all that crap and everything works fine again.

You can take pretty much anything and substitute. Like - "My car dies at 6K when I floor it - my engine must be broken...HELP!" "Well - did you let it warm up first?" "No - but thats not it - it was fine when I pulle dout of the garage" ugh...

At this poing I suggest that it may be the Johson rods or perhaps the muffler bearings.

I gues my point is that NOTHING should be ruled out when logically troubleshooting - until you can prove that it ISN'T an issue - its a potential issue. Never assume you just know what something ISN'T.

or somethgin like that.

Sorry guys, I'll take the blame for the recent weather. I installed my summer rims about two weeks ago, and I forgot to put a tarp over the whole operation...Mother Nature saw the whole thing, so she decided to let winter weather hang around a while longer. Live and learn...

No, I'm afraid it is my fault, I was so mad the ice storm caused so many power outages, that the race shop where my wheels are being powdercoated could not finish them because they could not do the final bake, well I snapped, I revised my thread to be Mother Nature is a bitch......
