Default Is your AP1 as slow as mine?

I recently purchased a 2000 berlina black s2k..
And I noticed that it pulls pretty good only on the highway..
In the city, its as slow as a regular old civic..

It seems to pull quite nicely between 80 to 120. That is where I get decent acceleration.
Does anyone else find this accurate? does your s2k behave differently?

AP1's are pretty torqueless in lower RPM's. Kind of makes it hard to scoot around town comfortably.

Then I got some 4.77 gears and problem solved.

Note to nocarebear: The powerband is *all* well north of 6000rpm.

If you shift below 6000rpm, it performs like a Civic. That's actually one of the GREAT things about the car, IMO.

^^ I agree. I'm used to it, but took the GF for her first ride in the AP2 and she almost did more than piss when I punched it hard getting on the freeway. She was "laughing" like being on a roller coaster (because of the acceleration - not my crappy driving!).

Why are you trying to go fast in a city? That's not a good idea.
