Default Your favorite S2000 road...

Trying a thread about "Your favorite S2000 Road" It would be cool to see what owners have locally for their pleasant scenic Sunday drives. Roads that people are planning on hitting up when they get the chance or roads you have driven on roadtrips...whatever is worth mentioning.

I will start...

I found this road in Northern Japan. As soon as I get my car on the road here I am going to hit it up. It looks too amazing to not want to drive or post up.

The Devil's Highway in New Mexico and Arizona is a highway of international repute that I haven't driven yet. Those who have say it is among the best they've ever driven.

I'm looking forward to this route in the fall, with the Arizona contingent. Have fun with this story.

I just moved from New Mexico. We had a group drive through the Gila last year. (thats the closest I got). I had always wanted to attend the Devil's Hwy run, but ended up moving away before I could.

I've posted these before. but:

http://goo.gl/maps/k2Eho The old Mackenzie Pass. One section(where it starts zoomed in on) is called Dead Horse Grade with several turns marked with 15mph hairpin signs. Oregon's own little Tail of the Dragon.

Then there is the Quartzville Byway: http://goo.gl/maps/ZH35s
50 miles long, with 1/4 of it (or so) being a 1 lane road with virtually no traffic. Huge twisties through the river canyons and then up to the forested peaks to view the sprawling landscape below. One of my favorites, but also very dangerous if you happen to find another car coming at you.

http://goo.gl/maps/72Vva Hwy 20 over Tombstone Pass (which takes you to the start of Quartzville) is fun in its own right.

Couger Reservior, aka The Aufderheide http://goo.gl/maps/gB00F

all of these within a couple hours driving distance from me

Not much of anything locally. The best I've driven on in Texas is the 100 Mile Loop/Three Sisters Twisted Sisters but that's about 5 hours from here.

There are a lot of good roads in the US whether they're for the scenery or the twisties themselves. I really like the Pacific Coast Highway between San Luis Obispo and Monterey and the Tail of the Dragon is a must but there are a lot of not so well known roads that have been a blast as well. Also enjoyed cruising through Yosemite, Death Valley, Zion, the Black Hills and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Quite a bit of what I've seen in Colorado, including the Million Dollar Highway and the road to the peak of Mt Evans, are great drives as well.

I usually hit this site if planning a road trip in the S:

Best ones I have driven have been the S2 starting at Ocotillo, CA Connecting to the 78 until about Ramona, CA. Driven those a few times and it was pretty fun.
