Default Your thoughts on OEM front lips

I see a lot of people looking for ap1 oem lips. I was wondering what everybody thinks about these OEM 'style' lips that they sell on ebay? How are they, in terms of fitment and quality, compared to the real oem lips?

i wouldnt even bother getting one of those oem 'replica' lips. i would mainly worry about fitment. plus, when you buy a real factory lip, it comes with all the hardware for the install, and fitment is never an issue. the oem lip comes painted also.

fitment is uber crappy.. I might have my front bumper repainted and buy a new lip since mine is cracked. i love the look of the OEM lip though, much more aggressive and makes the car look a whole lot cleaner.

I can't comment on the OEM style ones, but the actual OEM fitment is right on. No need to worry about paint or fitment. However, they do cost quite a bit more. This was the best exterior mod I have done, the car looks so much meaner nowfrom the front.

If you look around (For ex: Hardtopguy), you can find OEM lips painted factory colors for a pretty good price. Keep in mind that non-OEM lips probably do not come with the rubber seal on top to keep out debris. Eventually, you may get scratches and whatnot under the lip or where it will contact the bumper if you don't have that strip.

I paid $343 for an OEM AP2 lip painted. I don't think that price is bad at all.

love oem lip and spoiler that sits on the deck of the ap2. no likey the side strakes though.

If you don't mind a half ass'd looking S then get replica and find someone to put it on cheap.

If you want something clean and good looking then buy oem and install yourself taking your sweet ass time or have a dealership or some quality shop install them.

one thing i've learned is you get what you pay for. You buy veilside it fits...you buy veilside knockoff you pay the guy to make it fit and end up paying just as much as authentic and it doesn't look as good against the lines of the car... the decision is yours

I like the OEM lips, especially with a rear spoiler. Adds another subtle dimension to the car.
