Default YOWW!! Getting mine tomorrow!

Just got a quote I can live with and if all is what was said I'll be driving home in a new silver/black tomorrow.

It has 10 miles and is still in the plastic.

Bringing my "Dealer/check off list" (thanks s2ki) and $.

Seems I remember someone saying not to let them remove the plastic or wash the car. I haven't seen it yet - just did the deal over the phone. They wanted to clean it up etc. but I told them not to remove the plastic and I'd wash it and they agreed. How do you check it out for scratches and imperfections when it's wrapped and dirty.
Anyone have experience with this?

First my congrats!!
2nd when we went to pick ours I removed the plastic before it was delivered. The dealer we purchased our car from has an enclosed delivery trailer. Just check it out close. If you find any CALL the dealer right away.

Congratulations! What an awesome feeling, huh?

What you could do is watch them peel the plastic off yourself, that way you can really scan
it out before you sign any papers. I wouldn't want to buy the car with the plastic still on; it's
much better to see the actual paint yourself. Plastic can mask any minor scratches.

Way to go!

Congrats!!!!

Order your Zaino. Wish I had before my car arrived.

Also, do a site search on windshield tape, and you decide for yourself before tape adhesive becomes a major decision factor. The dealers don't seem to be mentioning this to people.

I felt very apprehensive about letting the dealer prep my car, but I must say they did a great job. The tires even all had exactly 32 lbs. of air. I'm very picky about details myself, so I can understand your wanting to be sure everything is just right. Don't forget to get some Lexol (or conditioner of your choice) on those seats. The leather is very dry when new, but 3 or 4 applications of Lexol will make it soft and prevent it from creasing.

Aren't we fortunate!

I'm not too concerned about the stock seats, but thanks for the tips. My eventual goal is to redo the black seats in red, much like the 2001 models. The all-red interior was just a touch much for me (more power to anyone who did like it).

I'll also be uprading (hopefully) to:
Digrappa X brace
Mugen Header & exhaust
Injen CAI
APEXi V-AFC

OOOOHHHHHH MYYYYYY GOOOOOOOD!
Having this much fun must be sinfull!!
Picked it up today.
Here's what happened:

Checked dealer inventory on dealer web sites to see who had s2000s in stock.

Sent out a bunch of requests for quotes all over CA expecting to have to drive a ways to get my price. (Dealers around here wanted 38-40k) I just said I wanted no options and was ready to buy today.

Just for fun, I e-mailed Honda of Oxnard - 30mi south of me. I knew they had a blue stickered at 40k

I began getting calls and e-mails with quotes ranging from just over msrp to 2k over although they all would talk. Then Blanca from Oxnard called and said "Hi I have the car you want still in plastic and I can let you have it for msrp." YIKES! I was speechless. I NEVER MENTIONED PRICE in my quote request. Ahhh..., ok.... I'l come in tomorrow and lets see it.

Everything was just as she said. I had my dealer letter/list and went over the items with her. They used no soap etc. She was VERY accomodating and helpful. Filled out all the paperwork while it was cleaned, gave me the last inspection and test drive BEFORE signing the last line and writing the check. 2hrs and I drove home. We never talked about price, She just wrote it up for 32400+460 and that was that!

The only problem was that they had already put on the front license plate frame and threw away the plugs. She went to parts and ordered another set to be fedexed to me.

WOW this car is unbelievable.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions..
