Primary reason why we have it the way it is... is because of speed. Pure raw speed. We have the fastest freaking electrical top in the world... Faster than Z4's and Porsche Boxster's.

Unfortunately we don't have the fastest car...

But at least we have the cheapest!

Yeah, its like 7 sec for the Bimmer vs 6 sec for the S... not exactly mind blowing time here!

I like the top the way it is. Having it be a built in cover would be nice, but I didn't buy this car for the way the top drops!

Well... think about this...

A "Z" folding soft top's front quarter will ALWAYS be exposed to the sun, no matter if it is up or down... now, logic would tell me that eventually the front quarter of the soft top.... being constantly exposed to the sun.... will be a different color from the rest of the top.
