Default Zaino ZFX versus Z1

I telephoned Zaino earlier today and was advised to go with newly developed Zaino ZFX instead of Z1 before applying Z2. Now I understand that ZFX is an accelerator that helps the drying process significantly, but does anyone know if anything is given up visually by not using Z1 before Z2. Does the ZFX give as good or better a result than using Z1? I was told ZFX is a far superior product but was curious if anyone has used it and, if so, can you offer an opinion of Z1 plus Z2 versus ZFX plus Z2.

Any comments or experiences with this new Zaino product would be very helpful.

Thanks

I buy from my local distributor, a Covette owner. When I was going to buy ZFX, he talked me out of it. Here is how he put it.

"I only use ZFX whe I am in a hurry and need to get several coats on for a Show. Other then that I used the Z1 and save the cost of the ZFX. All in all the ZFX price vers Z1 is not worth it"

So as far as ZFX working/looking better I don't know. I only have the time to do a single coat anyway. I will tell you to also get Z5. I have been using zaino from the second time I detailed the car, and should have bought Z5 as well, in the beginning. Not that I had any swirl marks to hide, but it help hide the spray patterns in the paint.

I have both the ZFX and the Z1. I think the ZFX is far better than the Z1, and don't intend to purchase Z1 again. Also, the tiny bottle of ZFX will last a long time.

I put 2 coats on today .... with ZFX I can get it to set up in weather as cold as 45 degrees -- and on days like today 75 in the sun -- it is dry in as little as 1-2 minutes.

The days of putting a coat of Zaino on and waiting an hour are over.

You guys might want to look at Pinnacle Products (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/autopia/). Zaino is good but if you can afford it, Pinnacle Products puts Zaino to shame. Just ask the guys on the pro circuit with Lambos and Ferarris.

Utah

P.S. Forget the "distributers". Why don't all you Zaino enthusiasts send an email to Sal Zaino and ask him a very simple question....... Why can't I buy your products conveniently?

Can't get into any area of this website to view the product or even find out what it is. The "Store" link just brings you back to the same homepage and shows no product info whatsoever. Doesn't seem very "convenient" to me.

Is this a wax product? Can't see how it could produce a better shine than Zaino....perhaps comparable, but "put Zaino to shame" as you said....good luck with that.

cdr,

I've not used Z1, but have been very happy with the results using ZFX. I so far have used it every time, even after the first coat when, in theory, I didn't "need" it. But I like being able to do two or three coats without waiting. I especially don't want to wait overnight to put another coat on. I'd rather be driving!

With ZFX, you have a basically one-step process (well, two steps if you count applying and wiping as two) that's as fast and easy as anything else out there. So I highly recommend it.

Doc, did you claybar and/or use Z5 as well, or just ZFX mixed into Z2?
