Wink **Loud Pop/Click Noise in Reverse?

I'm experiencing a single loud pop/click sound when I'm in reverse. Pretty certain that the sound is coming from the driver side rear. The popping sound is reasonably loud and only happens in reverse. If it helps I usually park with the e-brake and I just recently replaced the wheel bearing/hub combo. Already did a search and got axle nut but would like to get more suggestions. Thanks guys and god bless

Thanks for effectively using the search...it did not lead you wrong. Tighten the axle nut to 220 ft-lb. You can also grease the axle spline if you like. If you are only getting 1 click, the re-torquing the nut may be enough.

Its definitely just 1 click when in reverse. Thank you so much everyone for your helpful advice and I'll try re-torquing the axle nut and greasing the axle spline.

I believe its something different if there's more than one click, I've just ordered new spindle nuts for this problem - and someone told me if it clicks more than once its something else... (which it does in my case)

If you have aggressive brake pads and don't drive them too hard, a lot of times you can get brake pad stick. But that usually only occurs in the morning, after you washed your car, or you let your car sit for a while.

Nah - mines even after an hour or two of hard driving, and then backing-up into the garage (slight incline, say 15-20 degrees) - goes *click* *click* *click* as I reverse, a deep sounding click

that's definitely axle nut... lube and re-torque to 220 ft-lbs! Dishes are done...
