There probably isn't a 1:1 ratio for change in valve clearance compared to change in lift.

tenblade2001: If you do happen to find get a '02 ECU, let me know if it really makes a difference.

Are there any group dyno sessions out there where there will be an '00 - '01 and an '02+ who will be willing to do a run or two and then swap ECU's and see if the dyno numbers change accordingly?

What about the tranny? 2002 was also the first year for the revised shift action and suspension... wasn't if? If that's the case... why couldn't it simply be less drive train loss/

Yeah the tranny was one of the three things I outlined about that I suspect could account for these differences.

I said it's either in the valves, ECU, or tranny. I guess the next question is, is there anyone out there who dyno'd their car, blew the tranny and replaced it w/ an '02 tranny, and then dyno'd it again and saw a power increase?

i'm not sure this would necessarily yield the most accurate results. if you didn't reset the first computer before testing, it would have a different long term trim value than the second computer. if you reset the first computer, they'd both be zero'd out but not necessarily indicative of what trim the computer would arrive at after just a few days of driving. it would probably be better to reset your ecu, drive for a week, get on the dyno, swap ECUs, drive for another week, and get on the same dyno again in the same weather, preferably.

the HP differences we're talking about here are so minimal that i think you'd need to be very careful about the test methodology.
