04' engine in 03' s2k

Default 04' engine in 03' s2k

I'm planning on purchasing an 04' engine and i was wondering what else would i have to change to make it work with my 03' s2k. It's comming with an ecu but will there be any major mods i'll have to change on it for it to work?

i think you need a turbo kit for the engine to start

03 ECU will runs to lean, you would need at list 00-01 ecu which are richer on thetop end.


what about getting an MY04 crank? would be a lot cheapper than a full engine

What happened to the 03' engine?

I have also heard in this post, that you need to modify how the fuel line connects.
Even though this is if it's possible for it to rev to 9k it does talk about a lot.

soozookabluS2k : the 04 tranny is not that much different. I think it was figured that it's only 100 rpm difference.

S2000 Europe: I thought there were more differences between the 2.2l and 2.0l than just a crank. I thought the pistons were also different, which if that's the case wouldn't be suprised if the rods were different also.

the bore is the same and the compresion has been increased by 0.1 ( US model) More changes has ben done to the head

I have asked and the rods are different too. F22C has shorter rods

f22c has shorter rods!!
f20c=>153mm rods
f22c=>149.65mm rods.
