Default 04 exhaust tip

I just purchased a 00' S2k and I want to install the newer exhaust tips that come w/ the 04's. Has anyone done this and how did you fit it? Do you just bolt it on or was there any welding involved? Thanks.

The 04 tips do have a small bolt that attaches to the muffler extension. You should be able to slide the exhaust tip on the original muffler and tighten the same bolt back to secure it. The only potential problem would be a different diameter of the pipe coming out of the muffler and the position alignment as it comes under the rear spoiler.

Yeah that's what i'm worried about, I've gone to the local honda dealerships and they said that the part numbers don't match up which could mean nothing but i just don't wanna pay for it and not be able to return it if it doesn't fit, which they won't allow.
Thanks for the info.

We just put an Invidia exhaust on a Mid-A memeber's car today. We took off the stock '03 exhaust that had the '04 tips added. They will fit no problem. In fact, I believe that member is going to sell them.

I put mine on last week. Sound the same as the stock ones but look after-market

Hey twisted, could you give me a general guide on what the process was since you have gone through it. That would help a bunch, thanks a lot.
