The universal averages listed in your report, don't look like the one on my report from July for my '04. So it looks like those pertain to the K20?

Here is a link to some good examples of failing and failed bearings and probable causes:

Update 8/3/12: After not liking what the first UOA showed with the Mobil 1 10w-30, I ran it for 5 and a half months and changed to Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 late Febuary. Since then I put 2,200 miles of mixed driving on it, with 2 autocrosses (our corvette club 12 runs a piece), and 3 trackdays (Roebling & 2 days at CMP). ~80% of the drives are now 5 miles or longer. The weekend at CMP was in the 104-106^F ambient range, brutally hot. I replaced the PP with Pennzoil Ultra 5w-30 after the trackday and had it analyzed. Based on the results I think I'll run 6 months or 3 trackdays, whatever comes first. Sorry for the small image.

I will go on record as saying UOA's are helpful in some situations, and with these motors when problems surface they often revolve around bearing issues.

My last UOA indicated a substantial rise in lead and copper, a few hundred KMs after that and the motor completely failed. I think the small sized material is just as informative as larger sized particles in certain situations. Between the elevated UOA and the motor failure I removed the oil pan and there wasn't a spec of metal in the pan, no large material at all. IMO the UOA was a pretty good indicator of where my motor was going, unfortunately I didn't do anything to prevent the ultimate failure as I thought it could have been saved. Everyone's sitaution is going to be different.

I would try to find an engine oil that doesn't shear so quickly. Film strength is documented many times over as an essential protector of bearings.

After a track day, known for oil starvation, right?
And the oil change after the track day, but before the failure, showed glitter in the oil.. right?
