Default 1-2nd gear grind

so if you ever get that grind... be prepared to buy a new trans like me... bc its about to go... mechanics price on a honda tranny is 3400 spoon tranny 2600(rebuild) used with 90 day warranty 1200

that grind is bad news!!!!
just took it out one day.. and normal driving.. into 2nd... gone...

I thought this was very common, even among the new ones?

I don't know, unless you prematurely did the 1-2 grind for a long time, the transmission can take quite a bit of abuse.

My tranny did that very minimal, then i drain the fluid and replaced is with gm syncromesche or however u spell it and the problem went away, i hear lots of s2000's with this grind and that usually takes care of it.

yeah, that's the noise they're talking about. When you warm up your car, put your car in gear several times to lubricate the gears. I can't guarantee it will take the clinking away, but it's less clinking.

I have a minor clink when it's cold, but that's it. Before I drive I put my car in all the gears before I roll out.

Grinding and clink are two different things.

If your grinding is severe, you could adjust the clutch pedal rod, this might help, but I suggest you do this with the utmost caution.

Clunking just needs a slight hesitation between shifts, especially when transmission is cold.
