Default 100 Octane

So what do you guys think about 100 octane?

Bad or good for the stook?

The butt dyno says that after about 10 miles or so after a fill up it fells a bit more powerful.. And I get more miles/gal...

I usually can only afford to fill it up about once a month...

Cost $4.99 a gallon

What are everyone's thoughts..

Is your car heavily modded? If not, it's absolutely useless and a total waste of money. In fact, you're probably loosing horsepower because the gas is burning slower.

Sorry, no offense... just stating the truth..

Really, I thought it burned better and faster because it is more pure...

the higher the octane, the 'richer' it is, the slower it burns. simple case: if you raise your engine compression, you need to use higher octane gas to prevent your engine from detonating.

Nice, so I am getting more miles because of less power and richer fuel??

your probably better off just mixing 1-2 gallons of 100 octane race gas with each fill up of regular Hi octane fuel. This asserts that you are in the top range of tuning that your knock sensors allow with out the over kill of a fuel that you cannot entirely take advantage of. To get the most out of 100 octane fuel, the car needs to be tuned for it, ie. hi compression, advanced timing, etc.

Stick with one brand....don't change all the timee as for 100 octane...I think it's bit expensive and high in octane....I am currently using Sunoco Ultra 94 in the East Coast...and are using Shell 93 octane on my BMW...just my 2 cents...
