Default 15%-5%

Just curious how many of you change your oil at the 15% vs 5% range. I have let mine go to 5% and was wondering if im waiting too long ?

for the first oil change I went to just about 0 since the dealer said the first change has some conditioner in the oil and it should be in for the full time.

After that, I'm changing it every 3k miles, but if you want to follow the computer, then I would think that as long as you don't go negitive you are ok.

the % will never go negative it will stay at 0 and keep telling you to change it. 100- 0% is like over 5000 miles wich in my eyes is a little excessive. also most manufactures use milage to base thier % so its just more for the consumer. like you need to change your oil its been 5000 miles or, you need to change your oil because your oil life is at 0%.

which one do you think people are less likely to go well i think ill be ok if i go another week or too

alot of manufactures going to 5000 miles or using the % system

Toyotas always been 5000 miles
i changed alot of toyota oils at 3000 and they come out clean.. not even black.. so i rec every toyota owner to wait till 5k and save some money and me some time lol

not sure if you have an 06+, but the % life on the car is NOT based off of milage. I would guess it has something to do with RPMs but that is just a guess. I'm out of town now and can't check my manual, but I"m pretty sure that the oil life will go negitive, but I could be mistaken.

I think my car went almost 6k before I was at 5% but I would have to check my car's records to make sure and I can't do that for a week.

I hope the distance to go back home was shorter then the distance he still had to go to work
Did he allready pass the Point Of NO Return
What did he tell his boss?
"I can't come to work because my engine's gonna blow up - I have to chane oil first"
