I think the usual procedure is to remove the spark plugs, inject a small amount of engine oil into each cylinder and crank the engine, perhaps by hand at first and then with the starter. That will get a coating of oil on the cylinder wall before starting it up and will get some oil flow into the rest of the engine before loads get placed on it.

This after an oil change, of course. I'd also probably change the oil and filter after a few hundred miles just to be careful...

It wouldn't be a bad idea to put a little engine oil in the spark plug holes but expect the engine to smoke for a while after it starts if you do that. Doesn't really need to be turned over by hand..

Most important thing you can do is remove the fuse for the coil packs and turn the starter over untill the oil light on the cluster goes out. Once it goes out the engine has oil pressure. If you start it right up it might run for some time without oil pressure and that can definately cause damage.

i just swapped out my accord f22b1 engine out for another f22b1 that has been sitting around for over 10 years.. with no start ups or anything.. was my uncles with 20 to 30k miles.. its brand new.. once i got it installed i changed the oil and pulled the plug wires so i can crank it a few times to get oil up and around the engine.. after that i fired it right up and ran perfectly.. i just let it sit for like 10 mins to let it warm up and what not

2 years u should be fine.. just swap it..
