Default 2000 Hardtop Install

I just finally got my hardtop install kit in the mail. I pulled up the instructions from the net and it looks difficult. Has anyone ever installed this before? Is it possible to do without taking to Honda? And how long of a job is it?

Yes it's possible to do it yourself. You need all the tools listed in the install directions.

It should take a few hours to do, working slowly and following the adjustment directions.

Difficulty is relative, I've put on 4 HT's, so there isn't much difficulty for me. Some people can't find the gas door release, it may pose to be a problem for them.

Is it possile to open the softtop while the hartop is on . The instructions dont say anything about the softtop not coming off, I know it may sound stupid and all but what if some dumb passanger finds it funny to toggle with your softop retrack button? Will this damage anything?

The softtop is disabled with the HT installed.

Its actually not that hard if you sit down and take your time with it. Do not rush. I have done about 3 of them including a Mugen one and its relatively simple. You can do it yourself. Honda will charge you an arm and a leg for the job. It should take you several hours the first time.

I did mine in about half a day with no problem. I bet you'll be kinder to your car than the dealer and if you don't know what the hell you're doing, you have about the same qualifications as the Honda guys.
