I'm looking at a used 2002. Can anyone tell me the differences between 2001 and 2002 models?

I just bought a 2002.....from what i understand the '02 model has a rear glass window vs plastic...Also perhaps the stereo... I think the '01 model doesn't have seperate tweeters.. Good luck!

 

The tranny is slightly diff. The OEM stereo, The glass rear window, The rear tail lights, and ive heard of a diff with the rims. I had to make the same choice(new Vs Used)...get the glass rear window!!!

 

There are many subtle cosmetic improvements between the MY02 and MY01s.

much better stereo, glass window. and a more forgiving setup. Honda tweaked suspension for the MY02. From my limited experience on the autoX course, the new setup may help with the snap oversteer some experience. I was not able to due an accurate comparision since the MY00/01s no longer had stock tires.

I am about 99% sure that the HP increase/ECU change is merely a rumor.

I think it would be more acurate to say that the '02 stereo is "less crappy" than the '01.

I think the '02 ECU is better, but not by 10 HP. It is a different ECU (different part number), and there are significantly smaller gains from piggy back computers.

 

it is always the 1% you have to watch out for... it is not a rumor, it is just not known exactly what the differences are. we datalogged back to back runs on similar cars, and had marked differences.

different part number means something has changed. if you do not think it is true, hmmm... if you have an 02/03 model i will swap you even for my 00 ecu.
