Default 23mm = 1 inch?

Well heres my dilema, locating a 23mm wrench for the Diff drain bolt is proving to be more difficult than I thought. I do however have a 1 inch socket. Would this work since 2.3cm or 23mm is approx. 1 inch? or would I have to worry about slippage?

If worst comes to worst could szomeone point me in the right direction

go to autozone and buy one of their cheap box end wrenchs... they are like $12 or less and will be good enough for this one use... DONT USE THE 1" you will regret that once the drain is rounded off...

23 mm wrenches are not hard to find. They don't tend to come in wrench sets, but any of the local auto parts stores near me have them. Sears should also have one. A good hardware store should have one. Etc.

I would keep looking for a 23mm. You are going to need it for as long as you have the car.

Don't forget a torque wrench as you do not want to overtighten the drain, and fill bolts.

I had to cut down a socket to fit the fill bolt.

You'd probalby end up stripping the head. Go to sears and buy a 23mm socket. They will have them.

I forget if it was the drain or fill plug, but one of the sizes was near IMPOSSIBLE to find. Finally ended up at Super Autobacs for it. I tried a million American size wrenches first- none of them fit right.

do not use another size... unless it converts EXACTLY. 1mm off will cause you a world of drama. you will strip the bolt and kick yourself in the ass. i've done this many times. stripping bolts/nuts and kicking myself in the ass
