Default 3500rpms and cel

I have no way of hooking my car up to an obd2 scanner so i dn't know what code my car is throwing exactly. It will drive fine for like 10 minutes then the car wants to shut off and the cel comes on. I give the car alil gas to keep it running but it won't rev pas 3500rpms. If i let go of the gas it turns off. Any ideas??

ok i used modifrys idea of blinking cel, i recieved 5 short blinks. But i can't find a code for 5 short blinks anywhere, any ideas???

Any # of DTC's can cause this. TDC, and CKP codes, and VTEC codes can all give you a low RPM rev limit. You still need the DTC before troubleshooting.

Being that your car is turbocharged what type of piggyback are you using?

The emanage programming is stable after battery power is removed. The e-manage being wired in effects the troubleshooting as it's intercepting the some of same sensor inputs that can cause your problem.

i was thinking maybe that the map clamp wasn't set, but i know it was. I'm going to have to get the code to find out exactly whats wrong.
