3750mi Dealer Maintenance ?
Quickly approaching the 3,750 mile mark.
Is it really necessary to bring the car back to the dealer for a 'check up'?
What do they actually look for and what work do they perform ?
I plan on changing the oil, but would rather not bring it to the dealer unless is required. (warrenty requirement?)
Thanks for any info.

This is a lovely "misconception" that all dealers would like owners to have. NO, you do not need to take a car to the dealer for routine maintenance to keep the waranty. You need to keep receipts, records, documentation for all work and materials that you do yourself or have someone else do. If you can change your own oil, great, keep a "log" of all of it along with the receipts for the filter and oil. These will have the dates on them. Check your owners manual. It will tell you what is needed at each service interval. Can you check tire pressures yourself? I think so. Can you lube all the hinges and strikers on the car? Can you inspect all the CV boots, belts, fluid levels (top up if necessary), exhaust for leaks, brake wear on the pads, etc? Many people can. If you can't, then you need to go get this done but not necessarily at a Honda dealer.
