I would bet the the Tach is connected to the cams and the speedo is connected to the transmission.

They would need to be seperate. The reason is that the speedo is connected to the final output of the transmission. This would make sense, becasue the speed is directly proportional to it's speed.

Where the cams are rotating at whatever the RPM is, independate of speed.

Does this make sense to anyone else, or am I way off?

was this number with 4.77? if so it doesnt seem all that great. i guess it could be due to the extra shift you have compaired to 4.44's or stock.

First, let's forget about whether this is 4.44 or 4.77. Do you really think this is a reasonable statement to make? .......... "it doesnt seem all that great"

The trouble with asking what peoples' 1/4 mile times are is that there are too many variables to consider - like driving experience, ambient air temps, altitude of the strip, condition of the strip, tire pressures, tire condition, clutch drop or no clutch drop. The other problem is that people will actually fall for it and post what their times were without making those NECESSARY qualifications. You read in magazines that the best time for this car stock is 13.8, so you conclude that beroz's times were "NOT GREAT". This was only one magazine and everybody takes this as the "benchmark" and the gospel truth. For all we know, beroz may have had times ranging anywhere from high 14's to low 15's before the gears, making his 13.8 pretty damn good.
If we are going to ask the question and if we are going to give an answer, we need to state what we did before the mod so that the results after the mod will have some relevence OR clearly state that we DO NOT know what it was before because we never checked.
With just these two posts (yours and beroz's), everyone will now conclude that this mod is worthless. Have you seen ItalianBuckwheat's comparison between stock and 4.44's doing 0-60? It is obvious that you have not.

Ok well again my apologies. I was in no way trying to infer that you are a bad driver. And if 13's is what supercharged S's are running then I read, whatever I read, wrong. My most sincere apologies.
