An easy way to fix the bounce off of the rev limiter is to install an AP1 ECU in your AP2 car. With it you'll gain an extra 15 RWHP and the 9000 rpm redline. In the testing that we have done, the AP2 car doesn't make any more HP after 8300 rpm, but it is nice to have that extra 700 or so RPM's to carry the car into a corner or through the traps without having to shift.
If you don't get to 13 flat with your car and the 4.77's NA, try the AP1 ECU (the earlier AP1 ecu's are the best) and you may just get there.

As far as the gears go here is my .02
You choices are 4.10 (stock), 4.44, 4.56, or 4.77
The 4.44's will increase your gearing by roughly 8%. That means if you normally cruise at 4000 rpm, you will now have to cruise at 4320 rpm to go the same speed. These are great gears for the NA cars for people that want a little boost in performance in the car without sacrificing gas mileage, noise or engine wear. They are a factory cut gear so there is no whine or noise other than the normal sounds of the diff.
The 4.56's will increase your gearing by roughly 10%. That means if you normally cruise at 4000 rpm, you will now have to cruise at 4400 rpm to go the same speed. These gears are made by Richmond gear through a joint venture with Rick's and myself. The gears are built to be stronger than the factory gears. They are performance cut gears. They will make a slight whine around 4000 rpm but nothing that won't be drowned out by your supercharger or turbocharger noise or for that matter your aftermarket exhaust. These gears were built for the FI cars. They work well in both AP1 and AP2 cars and its a good compromise between the 4.44 and the 4.77.
The 4.77's will increase your gearing by roughly 16%. That means if you cruise at 4000rpm you will now be cruising at 4640rpm to go the same speed. These are factory gears so there is no whine. They work extremely well with the AP2. These are my personal favorites for the NA AP2 car.
Oh by the way, I'm running a 20% off group buy on any of these gears. Check out the group buy drivetrain forum for details.

Gearing is a matter of choice based on your driving style, other mods to the car, and what you plan to do with the car. If you want my personal reccomendation for you, just call me or sendme a PM/email.
Bump for hardtopguy! There is no better person to buy gears from. With his core-exchagne program you get the peace of mind of knowing they were installled correctly. You also get support from the infamous hardtopguy.

I LOVE my 4.77 hardtopguy diff

can anyone tell me what the reduction in top speed is on an AP1 with 4.77 vs stock 4.10? If it drops your 1/4 mile by roughly 0.5 seconds, how much does the trap speed change? I.E. if I am currently crossing at 101-102, what would I do with 4.77s?

Yeah I was looking at 4.44s or 4.57s as well. Although I hear it's hard to find 4.44s now.

With an AP2 (or ap2 transmission anyway) yes, but with an AP1 its about 145 or so I believe? Not sure of the exact number but its higher than the AP2.
