Default 4500 rpm limit

Hey guys,01 s2000 for a month now. And now my car wont rev past about 4500 rpms. There is no current code, but the engine light blinks and the car feels like it hits rev limit. Light does not stay on.
More background. Car was working fin, did an autocross and on the way home the engine started cutting out. And then wouldnt sstart again. Looks like the coils were bad. Replaces them with the 04 coils and new plugs. The car seems to be running fine, but just stops at 4500. Car is stock. Any help would be appreciated. I did check obvious things like sensors and vaccume lines. I havnt found any issues. And yes I tried searching first.

Remove your battery terminals for about 15 minutes then wire them up again. Should reset ECU and you should be back to normal.

and the car feels like it hits rev limit.
Rev limiter switches the fuel pump Off. A hint?

I had this problem with a different car that just died at highway speed while away from home. Felt just like when the S2000 hit the rev limiter. This was a valuable clue for the dealer. Intermittent electrical connection at the fuel pump (shorted, melted wiring). Would run and then not run. The pump is in the gas tank which is a PITA to get at on most cars (they had to drop the tank on this one!).
