Default 5 chimes when car is started

I noticed recently that my car has beening chiming when I first start it. It is the dinging noise that normally chimes twice (i think) when you first start the car. For some reason, it is five chimes now. Is this some sort of maintenance reminder like the "maintenance required" light and if so, how do I reset it. My car is an 03 with 55k miles. I do all my fluid changes myself. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

There is a key reminder chime whenever the key is in the ignition switch in the off key position.

i think your talking about the sounds when the key is turned to the 'ON' position, right before you hit the start button, right?

Is it the seat belt minder? Try putting on your seat belt before you turn the key to the ON II position.

That only sounds after the key is placed in the ignition, turned ON, then Back OFF. The door may have to opened also. I think this has pissed me off before trying to listen to the radio with the door open. If you put the key in and just go for the accessory position you're ok, but if you turn it to the ONII position and then back to accessory position with the door open one of the chimes won't shut up. I think.
Y'know I may be the confusing the door chime. I'm gonna check tomorrow. I think it is related to the key warning though.
Lights have a chime too, I think. (again)

EDIT: Thought about some more, haven't checked yet but I think the 5 chimes/tones are a single long pulse sound that ceases after 5 repetitions regardless of whether or not the seat belt is fastened. The key and light warning chimes/tones are sets of short bursts (3 I think) that repeats infinitely until the lights are shut off or the key removed from the ignition. I may check owners manual out of curiosity.

You may want to check your car again. The key reminder chime sounds whenever the key is in positions 0-II. The headlight chime is when the lights are on and the key is removed.

My vote goes to seatbelt reminder... but I'm not near my car to verify.

When the key is still in and the door is open, it "chimes" quickly 4 times... which just so happens to be "H" in morse code. I don't know about the 5 chimes though, I've never heard it. Maybe because my radar detector beeps when I turn the car on as well.

i'm pretty sure he's talking about the slower, longer beeps that take place right when the key is turned to 'on', and everything lights up on the dash(ie, the tach, temp, and fuel shoot across and back).

My 07 will chime 6 times.

* 6 times when you first start the car (without the seat belt on). It will stop as soon as you click it.
* 6 times after that every few seconds when you go over a certain speed without the seat belt on.
* It will chime continuously if the key is in the ACC position or just in the ignition keyhole and the door is open.
* If will chime continuously if the headlight is on and you open the door (regardless if the key is in the ignition or not)
