It was the butt-end of the car that broke loose first. I felt like I was back in my 911. That thing would swap ends on dry stuff if it was pushed hard.

i think you'll find that the behaviour of the car is within reasonable bounds for a "relatively" lightweight powerful rear driver. The tendency to spin out in the wet especially with S02s is exaggerated by the design of the tire having large treadblocks and relatively narrow channels which make it more prone to aquaplaneing. This is no fault of the car but part of the design of the tyre. If you wish to dail out some of this behaviour just look for a tyre with smaller tread blocks and larger circumfrential grooves (S03 is a good example), or even a tyre with a thinner contact patch.
