ABS light comes on while going 100MPH! HELP!!!
I was driving on the freeway last night going 110 MPH on my S and the ABS light comes on. It stays on until I stop the car and shut it off. Today I wanted to see if the same problem will occur. I was driving 100MPH and slowed down to 80MPH on the freeway and the ABS light comes on again. It stayed on until I got home. Is this normal? Do any of you guys have an idea of what might be wrong. It's Saturday night and dealer's repair service won't open until monday, is my S safe to drive around. One more thing, I checked all four brake pads, rotors, brake fluid, etc. and it all seems to be find. Do you think the ABS light went on just to let me know my S is in Anti-braking mode....
Thanks for your help,
dennis
I didn't find any other tread about this so sorry if I did repost...

If the ABS light comes on whilst driving it indicates a fault with the ABS system. Whilst you will still have brakes the anti-lock portion of the sytem will not operate whilst that light is on.
I would have it looked at as soon as possible.

Do you know what might cause it to come on? Last night I was going 110MPH and the light went out without me applying any brake to it. It seems as if everytime I go over 100MPH, the light comes on. When driving during city conditions, it's no problem...

Simple. Slow down, obey posted speed signs, allow yourself a larger margin of safety until Monday.
The only thing you can do now is to check your fluid levels... but you NEED a certified professional to take a look at it. Don't put yourself and others at risk.
Just my 2 cents.

Definitely something going on with the ABS unit, whether it be a wheel sensor or a modulator. You still have all the function of a regular braking system, but if you want your ABS to work, have it looked at.
I've known people who have had the ABS light on and never had it fixed 1. too expensive to fix or 2. they can just live without the ABS system.
Just remember you WILL have function of your braking system, just without ABS.

The ABS system is a complex one that is monitored and controlled by its own computer. The light coming on may be an indication of one of many possible issues in that system. It could something as simple as a dirty or misaligned wheel sensor or a dirty or damaged wheel sensor ring. Have you checked your tire inflation lately? If you have a low tire, your ABS might sense something odd and give you a light. However, with a low tire, you would have felt the car driving strangely, so this is only a "reach". You should be OK to drive it till you get it to the dealer to have the proper diagnostics checked. Just know that when the light comes on, you may not have ABS function, but then, at 110 mph, if you had stop in a hurry, you may be in deep doodoo anyway.
I checked fluids level, tire pressure, pads and all. Will dealer give me shit if I bring in my car for a full diagnostic without the ABS light being on? Last week, my CEL was on and by the time I arrive at the dealer, the CEL was off. Dealer didn't do any at all, didn't even bother to upon the hood. Honda has one of the worst service when it comes down to repair. I'll bring my car in on monday and update to see what happens.
