Default acceling stops at 7000rpm's sometimes

My car seemed to stop the Acceleration and slow the engine when i get to 7000rpm's or so. This is during the first part of driving the car, before the engine is warmed till the third bar... Can any1 help me explain this? After i drive the car for a while, theres no problem with the first gears rpm going to the 9000rpm's. What is this?
Thanks Before Hand

That is a design feature to prevent engine damage when the engine isn't warmed up yet.

What he said!

I believe its a rev limiter that kicks in around 6500 rpms or so when the engine isn't fully warmed up.

lol this scared me too when it first happened...it's simply a fuel cutoff that occurs when the engine isnt warmed up properly. If the engine temperature is below three bars, the ecu wont let you rev it above 7000 rpms....

Why were you trying to accel fast and rev high before it warmed up in the first place?

Thanks for all the help!!!
Well the car is only two months old for me, and i was just testing, gotta break her in. I baby the car since i crashed my other e36 m3. But sometimes you just get the urge to hear that lovely ROAR of vtec. I don't mess around really, just have fun with the car and practicing heel toeing, which at first was really akward, but is hella easy now. Thanks again for all the help, Great people...

don't keep doing it. running a cold engine that high can cause some serious wear/compression issues later on.

skick,

Agreed. You're trashing your motor flogging it before it's warmed up.

I'm sure he's got it by now, you only hafta hit the limiter once or twice before the point gets across.
