Default act clutch would not release

hello, have 02 s2000 put act clutch in getting ready for supercharger, clutch would not release, removed and installed new oem clutch it works fine, act said clutch was in specs, the best guess on what went wrong was the master cylinder or slave system was to weak to over come stiffer spring in pressure plate, please help on what you think went wrong, and what type what clutch would you use. tks zherbo

did you check and see if the disc is on backwards? stupid question, also, i put one in my ap1, and i could not get it in gear for the first 10 minutes, took a little bit of moving, and also, i went ahead and purchased a new master cylinder and tightend the adjustment of the pedal to help with my exedy clutch..

clutch would not release -- clutch pedal engaging at the bottom (or not at all) usually ends up being diagnosed as air in the system. Did you try bleeding the clutch a few times?

I have an inconsistent pedal feel. Sometimes it will be stiff/soft/feel rough or sometimes it feels perfect.

I replaced both MC and SC which did help but its not perfect. I also relubed the release fork which helped as well.

I have a feeling since the previous owner probably didn't change the brake fluid and I changed it at 60K miles there may be rust debris inside the hard line causing the inconsistencies. My last resort is the line change and a full flush.

I had the same problem with an act clutch for my crx... Turned out for me that the pressure plate was to thick and would never disengage.. I swaped out the pressure plate and then it worked fine. Hope you dont have to go through the same mission.
