Default adding a header after an sc install

Especially a Toda. Even with a lift, it won't slide in where the stocker came out of. We had to remove the motor mount to get it to turn the corner

But it sure is pretty. I haven't dynoed it yet. Be interesting to see how muc difference there is.

I think I'll add a little heat shield tape to my ac lines as the toda doesn't accomodate all the shields. It has a bit more drop below that frame than i care for as well. I'm glad my cars not lowered. I think that's something to watch with that header.

My header went on before the SC. I installed it from the bottom, and had to remove the engine mount as well. It does hang down lower than the stocker, mine has a few light scuffs on the bottom of the pipe from speed bumps. The stock heatshield that goes between the battery and engine still fits, but there are no sheilds on the header itself. The SC, and header definitely added to the underhood temps, and coolant temps. My car was pushing 200deg in winter, were it never before rose over 180.

Use a Steel crush washer or locktite the second 02 bung plug in or it will fall out.

I installed the toda header with the vortech. Goes in from the top, but lots of pushing and pulling.

Thx for the heads up, fshr.

Can't wait to see the numbers after you get your house in order post-Charley. Glad you're OK.

I too, did the Toda after the Vortech was on. It was a bit of work but the engine did not have to be lifted. Just a lot of manipulation, cussing and swearing and scraped knuckles.

There was no cursing, scratched valve cover, or beat up knuckles installing from the bottom. All the bolts to the engine mount are easy to reach and the header just about fell in for me.

i agree. We blocked the motor removed the mount and it slipped in easily...no knuckles busted. I don't see how anyone could get it through the top but then i'm never very good at those metal finger puzzles either.

On a butt dyno note...I don't feel much difference if any. The note seems a bit deeper now however.

Now that that's done it's time to go fishing.

I just love that sound. Plinkity, plinkity, plinkity.

I think all the Toda/Vortech owners have chimed in on this thread.
