Default Adjusting the TPS sensor resistance

I bought the ProFlow TB and took a couple of readings from the senors as required.

My stock TB measured 4.4k ohms, while the ProFlow was 5.4K ohms. How does this resistance reduce or improve performance? Are all S2000s calibrated to the same resistance.

Adjusting the resistance is as simple as turning the TPS sensor. However, you can't do that with a stock TB.

You need to match the low resistance numbers as opposed to the ~5k number. Go between the wiper (middle contact I think) and other end of the pot and match that number to the stock (or anybody's stock) value.
If you need me to go out and measure mine I can, otherwise, enjoy

BTW, I don't know how the ECU initially calibrates for the stroke/span (which differs from unit to unit) so that it know when you go WOT

Is there a WOT contact some where?

I need help RT.

I can only adjust it to 5.1K ohm by sliding the TPS sensor front to back. Am I looking at the right spot? I may have to remove it to adjust it. Could you measure yours?

Thanks,

Jose

Jose, you need to dial in approx. 680 ohms (0.680 k) between the center contact (wiper) and the one that connects to the green wire (bottom contact if TB is installed on car).
These contacts are the ones that correspond to the red wire and green wire of the TPS plug. (center and bottom.........680 ohms)

Probably won't hurt to reset ECU after either

Oh, and after thinking about the WOT thing it occured to me that the TPS has three wires so the computer can see the entire span of the pot.
No WOT contact needed.

I hope your car hauls a$$ when you're done

FYI, on worn TPS sensors it is not a bad idea to slightly alter the wiper-to-pedal position once in a while. These type of pots get a wear spot on the resistor track at the most-used positions from engine vibration. If you let this go too long you'll get a very non-linear spot on the pot and earlier TPS replacement need.

The TPS is not a "replaceable" item on S2000 to boot. It's only available as part of the Throttle Body assembly.
That would be an expensive TPS if that's all you needed
