^Nope. Did my compression at over 140K and mine is 225 on all 4 cylinders.

OP was the engine warm and was the test done WOT?

Consistency is the number 1 thing to look for! So they are all within spec. Could be the gauge reading low, on a cold engine without going WOT during the test etc. Numbers are definitely low over all but might not be an indication of wear just the gauge etc.

Is there a spec for a new motor PSI? They spec a low, but what is the "normal" spec? Seems odd they would allow anywhere between 128 and 240 to be normal. That sounds like a pretty large gap to me.

Thanks,

Think brand new motors usually show about 240 psi across the board for AP1's.

So would you guys get them to re-test it, or should I be happy with the numbers? Seems no one else had those low numbers, but most are saying that its just the consistency that I should look for.

Should an AP1 with that low miles have 100% equal compression between cylinders, or is it 100% normal to be off by 5psi?

I'm going to go make a deal with the dealership today, just wanted to hear back from you guys before I do.

Thanks,

you are fine, it is consistency that you want. They are on the low side but id rather have your numbers as opposed to 220 200, 160, 220.

I did my compression test without removing the fuel pump fuse. Threw similar numbers. After removing it I was in the 230s across the board.
