Default AEM CAI turned on my light?????

I have had my AEM CAI on my S for 2 months now with no problems. All of a sudden when I reached 59xx miles my "check engine" light came on. I checked all the lines and the gas tank knob and everything is normal. Anyways I went ahead and reset the ECU, the light is now gone. Anyone have any idea what might have caused it to come on seeing as how its never came on for 2 months since the CAI was installed?

Are you sure it was the CE Light and not that Needs Maintenance Light that comes on at around 6000 miles?

Yes I am sure it was the "check engine light", and NOT the "needs maintenance" light.

In that case, don't you think you are just jumping to conclusions by blaming the AEM CAI? It could have been anything. If it doesn't come back just go on. If it does you should leave it on and have a dealer pull the code.

Gawd. Blaming the AEM like that, you should work for an average dealer!!!

It could be anything. Fuel cap tight?

Ok if you guys noticed I am not so much blaming the AEM as much as I'm asking for advice. If you were to look at my title it's a question not a comment.

Why do so many people reset the ECU? The CEL lights up as a message to pull the how mal code. Somehow on this board when the light comes on everyone says how to reset it! Next time you pop a code have it pulled for about 20 bucks. .....then we can help you out.

I have a similar problem. I've gone several months with my INJEN CAI with no problems. Then out of nowhere, I get a CEL. I took it too my service guy and it turns out that I need a new ECU. He said that he talked to the main techs at Honda and they stated that the CAI should have nothing to do with it. I should be picking it up tomorrow and I guess than we'll see.
