Aem Ems Issues
Great thread,
I am glad to hear that someone is having sucess with the EMS system. From what I have read and heard, you are not the only one having some issues with the EMS system, there is alot of extra crap to buy and so many tunners are still learning the software. I am also glad to hear the only probs you had were fouled plugs.
Keep up the fight, it will be well worth it.

Hecash,
Appreciate the kind words. The EMS really embodies the true identity of a sports car. It's ever evolving. Daily I drive and tune and tinker to find the best possible setups. My main focus is to build a calibration map that maintains the driveability characteristics of the stock S. It's very close right now. The only thing left to concentrate on now is getting the car to kick over faster. It takes a little bit longer to fire up than the stock ECU. I'm getting much better with it. As it runs now, you'd never notice the differrence over a stock S unless you were to punch it. It's got so much more useable power below 6000 now. Above 6000 it really screams now. The engine has taken on a meanness to it now. It's more edgy sounding up top, thanks in part to the extra fuel and timing. Overall I am very pleased with the outcome and I must also remind myself that this piece is a building block. Anything I want to throw at it, be it cams or a forced induction setup, this is going to be the base to build from. I've had the Vafc and I can tell you that once you experience both setups, this is so much better. I always felt that with the Vafc my engine was a bit fussy down low. Now it just has torque. The system may be in the building stage, but AEM has definately built a product that will allow you to unlock all the potential in this engine. Mark my words, when I am done this car WILL dyno 250 rwhp ALL engine. Watch....

Chris,
My son and I are the owners of AEM. I would personally kike to thank you for the time, effort and the enthusiasm you have given to our new EMS system. We have invested an enormous amount of time and energy to this unit and know that it performs as you have shown.
Contrary to a previous post we offered the tuning rebate to R&D and suggested he become an authorized tuner. He certainly earned it.
Many thanks for your help and support.

Good to see someone from AEM finally sign up on the board, Peter. Your input / responses are welcome. My car (supercharged) hits the dyno tonight after 2 failed EMS install/tuning attempts...hopefully this time it will work out. Everyone believes in the potential the product has, but I don't think anyone is supportive of the learning curve it currently has.
They already have the RSX out, the maps would work with the DC5 (assumption).

Wes,
I understand your frustration with the EMS so far, and I hope you will have success tonight on the dyno, but do you recommend this product for S2000's with FI?
