Default AEM EMS questions

Does the EMS log your miles just as the stock computer does? My car is still under warranty, so if I had a problem and brought my car in for service and replaced my stock ecu, they'd definitely know, right? Also for running a low boost (8psi) fi system, would the EMS better much better than E-Manage, or some other piggyback? Sorry if I'm asking dumb questions but I'm trying to find out which type of computer would be better for me being my car is daily driven. Thanks

The ECU (EMS or stock) does not control the mileage shown on your odometer.

So I guess there is a separate computer to run this. What other functions does it control?

The instrument cluster logs miles/kilometers.

AEM is definitely the better option for FI but you pay for it. Also, at present it doesn't drive the Engine Coolant Temperature gauge.

Then you assume wrong.

There have been several updates and all have failed to address this issue. I believe it is because the S2000 ECU sends a certain frequency pulse to the cluster and this is very unusual.

There is project in the 'Under the hood' forum at present to build a device to solve this problem.

If you get AEM EMS be prepared to spend the same amount what you pay for the unit again on tuning it and NO there isn't a cheaper way to do it

In respect to the temp gauge on the cluster I just see that as a great excuse to go and buy some Defi's

Again though, if I put in an EMS, and needed service, put the stock computer back in, they would def know, right?

Not sure how they'd know. I think that they'd be more concerned with whatever kind of FI system you're running.

A friend of mine is an Acura mechanic, and kidds come in with RSX type-s with blown motors and he says the computer tells him if the car's ben over-revved. Is this logged on the ECU or the dash computer?
