I hear you. I spent between 32 and 42 weeks of the year on business travel for a period of about 7 years, and I can't even bring myself to think about getting on a plane again. Let's be in touch. I'll keep you posted when I've got something to report. I'm working on the Elda bar today.

OK bringing back an old thread.

This would explain why my car is reading 220 ECT on a mild day. I know it can't be running that hot. I'll try these cals and see what she reads.

Bringing back an old thread again.

If I changed these values in my tuned aem ems, is it going to negativly effect anything? I think cold start is based on coolant temps so this might screw up my tune?

Bump for response, I'm wondering the same thing. I've confirmed that my EMS is reading about 20* high compared to my modrify ECT dash gauge.

If I put these calibrations in, will it negatively affect my current tune in any way?

if you already have a tune with the aem sensor calibration then stick with it

aem's IAT calibration is off but in the operating range of 40C and under its is off by nearly a constant...by roughly 20 degrees C.

To really gauge what effect the switch will have on your fuel map you need to compare the difference between the senor calibration and the effective air temp fuel compensation you will experience based on your aem setup.

In my case, i have an air temp compensation map set up relative to 14 C so the sensor calibration change would ensue a 8-9% leaning across the entire map. Since the offset is a constant it will not affect my ability to tune the engine correctly....

in summary, if your air temp compensation map is theoretically correct and relative to a temperature in the operating range, then changing over to the "correct" calibration will have no benefit, other than reading the correct temperature

Thanks for the calibrations

If you need these and just want to copy and paste I've put them in a spreadsheet here : http://bit.ly/aemcals

This is an old thread but one thing is not clear. Is this ECT fix only for AEM EMS v1's?

I have a AEM EMS plug & play v2 with a serial gauge & experiencing high temps. I have a large dual pass radiator with 2 SPAL fans & still have temps up to 212*F at stop lights @ ambient 91*F & the AC on. I am also running Evans coolant & I used foam to block off the areas around the radiator to force all the air through. I also cleaned & combed the AC condenser. On the highway my temps stay around 200*F so maybe the Series 2 calibration is OK but I just have an issue of poor airflow at stops.
Here is a link to the radiator:

Any help or experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Is the v1 and v2 the same as far as these values go?
