Default AEM Ver.2 cai question?

I just got my05 s2000, its completly stock. A freind of mine knows someone that just turbo'd his s2000 and he wants to sell his AEM Ver2 cai. Its fairly new and he said he will give it to me for $100..cant go wrong right? well he has a ap1 (2002) will it fit my ap2? im pretty sure theres no diffrence. and should i reset my ecu after putting it on? its been awhile since ive had an N/A car and i know on the sti's the cold air intakes made them run lean without a tune..thankz in advance guys!

Yep it'll fit.

Yes, you might as well reset you ECU. It'll have to learn idle again so be prepared for some hiccups.

Didn't want to start a new thread; sorry for hijacking!

I just installed my AEM V2 tonight and there is a loud hissing sound. It sounds like a vacuum leak. I also noticed a sound coming from where the filter sits and that sounds like a high pitch frequency. 2 totally different sounds.

I checked my Helms manual to verify I connected my vacuum hoses correctly. Which sound is the normal; the hissing sound or ....

Are they both normal sounds associated w/this intake?

A hissing sound is associated with any aftermarket intake with an open filter. Its just the sound of air entering the intake. The metal tube makes it more prominent.

It'll fit just fine. I have the same intake on my car too. The only mod I had to do was trim the plastic liner a bit where the intake pipe enters the engine bay near the passenger side wheel. I reset my ECU to "learn" and compensate for my new intake follow these steps carefully it will work.

Do you HAVE to reset the ECU when you install a new intake or allow more air to enter the engine? I'm just adding a k&n filter and snorkel and I'd prefer not to have to reset the ECU just for more air...

Yeah i'd go ahead and reset it it won't hurt anything only make the car run better esp when it re-learns your driving habits!

The difference is minute. If you are going for sound, then get the v2 intake.

J's intake, you will need to cut the hood.
