Afraid the S2k will break?
I get afraid that I will break my S2k sometimes. I drive well, but all that high revving Vtecing has to take its toll. Should I VTEC and be happy or Take it easy on my baby?
Thanks

My mechanic seems well versed about the S2000, and told me that when it was in developement, they ran one up to 9000 and left it there for 24 hrs.

just VTEC and be happy..
to show you how reliable the honda engine is.. take a look at used Honda you see on the paper..you can see old Civic/Crx's/Del SOl with high miles over 100+ and still have the original engine.. Take a look at Mazda Rx7's
almost all the used Rx7's i have seen all have blown engines and always rebuilt.

my first one withstood several 7000-9000rpm clutch drops and 300+ track miles.... i sold it with 24k miles and it ran great... there are lots of people here with 1000+ track miles with no engine problems..... then there is Barry from Wisconsin (or some state that starts with a "W"), who broke his car within a month of getting it.
but you have a warranty (as did Barry) that will fix it...unless you misshift the wrong way...

The odds are in your favor that you have nothing to worry about. However, if something should break - you want it to happen when it's still covered by the warranty. That's all the more reason to just drive it and enjoy it. That engine was built to VETC.
