Default Aftermarket calipers

Hey guys. Sorry if these questions are answered, I had a search and there's some great info on installing calipers, but I couldn't get what I was looking for.

Honda just quoted me almost $800 for new rear calipers, pads and a rotor resurfacing.

I found some aftermarket calipers on here http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200...e_caliper.html

Are any of them OK? Some of them are "Semi-Loaded", not sure what that is? Some of them are supplied without a Mounting Bracket, i'm also not sure if I need one of those or if I can use stuff for my existing setup.

Any recommendations from this page or any that you may have come across? I plan to buy the parts and have a local mechanic install them.

Cheers

Forget Honda. Why do you need new calipers? Why do you need the rotors turned?

You should be able to reuse the mounting bracket from the old brakes. Calipers aren't that hard to install. Make sure you flush the brakes before and bleed afterwards.

Where are you located? Maybe someone in the local forums can help. It's only like $250-400 in parts (using remanufactured calipers).

$121 for each caliper from Majestic, $66+75core RockAuto
$46 for pads
$20 each for new Centric rear rotors.
$25 brake fluid

According to the mechanic, they are freezing. The rear right (I think) was especially so. I've read that this side wears more anyway for some reason. The pad is almost to the metal. The service writer definitely made it out to be the worst thing ever until I questioned him about it. In the end I told him I was going to to do it at a later date somewhere else.

For now, I will order some parts and not use the e-brake to help avoid the sticking. I don't think that they are seized, as I haven't heard anything when driving.

After driving, do you feel that one side is hotter than the other?

If you jack the rear and have it in neutral, do both sides spin easily and freely?

If you answers are no and yes respectively, it sounds like they are trying to turn a ~$150 job into a ~$800 job.

Looks like I can get Centrics for $84 after core exchange, and that's with pads. I will probably do that. I also figured it wouldn't hurt to get the rotors done as i've read it's like $10 each? Although $20 for new ones is great.

I'm in Pittsburgh, PA. I think there are some members that could help me fit. Thanks guys.

I'd rather get unloaded and buy my own pads.

Oh yeah. Penguins suck.
