Default Air Conditioning occurance

when i turn on the AC with it on the "fresh air" mode, the AC will blow cold, then the air will start to get warmer (close to ambient temps) then a mist/fog/smoke will come out of the center vent for a second or two, then the air will blow ice cold again. this whole process can take up to a minute to repeat. i would say it would blow cold air for 55sec then the next 5 sec the air warms up and then the mist, then ice cold.

this process will repeat until i put the car into "recirculate" mode.

thoughts? opinions?

the dash vents. This phenomenon is similar to the
cloud you see when opening your freezer. It

I saw this twice when turning off the AC on the highway after it was running for about an hour. I was racing a turbo rx-7 at the time and thought my car was trying to poison me or something. lol
