Default air filter box

ive taken the box off the top of my stock intake (the big black box under the hood) and sounds better and seems to have a little bit more pick up. does anyone know if this has any negative side effects other than the filter needing to be replace more often? thanks

I think it will slower your car especially when ur car get start and low speed also,,, may be no effect on freeway, due to ur intake is taking too much hot air under the hood when u driving at slow speed, the hot air can't go away when car is slow

Yes, no positive effect. May sound better, but performance will go down. You can tell that by the duct placed at air filter box. It is made so duct can reach to the front of radiator to pickup cold air. But there is a little tip if you want to improve your s2ks performance withouth spending any money. You must put back your air filter box, but cut out the plastic wall inside the box. This will allow the filter to take in more air, will improve response and power.

Actually more than taking off the wall, but you can figure that out. Be creative. Also, will help air get heat if you attach heat reflector around air filter box and the pipe.
