Default Air Filter Combination

Just looking around for some advice on which air filter to go for ? Don't want to bust the bank too much ! I've been looking at K&N air filters. Any one have any ideas? Links will be much appreciated!

Agree with OEM. BTW... there are two types.

Early S2000 ones with round fitting pin.

And ones for later S2000s with square cross-hatch fitting pins:

I like K&N because you can reuse filter over and over. A bit more expensive than OEM but when you need to, just wash it and put some filter oil and it's good to go again.

I've bought only 1 new air filter for my S2000, as far as I remember early 2005.
(My S2000 is a MY00 bought by me at the end of 2004)
Guess what filter?
Yeah, a K&N.

I want my engine to last a long time. And if silicates are making their way into the oil via air filter, they are getting there past the rings. That is not cylinder wall friendly.

I'll stick with oem, and avoid k&n.

So I looked under my hood and this air filter is fitted..... not standard I'm guessing looks like a K&N? Anyone have any ideas? Or how do I find out what it is?

Don't K&N filters have the logo molded into the plastic?

Hard to tell from just that picture but that does not look like a K&N filter.
Probably some cheap generic filter that happened to fit.

Yeah, need to pull the filter off the duct. Does look shorter than the K&N I've seen advertised. Maybe, the wrong K&N?
