All advise is welcome ....

The nice thing about intakes is they are only loud when you are aggressive on the gas, otherwise they are quiet. I think the K&N FIPK is probably the best - the mod ia mainly about sound, not power.

I was going to tell you how a intake makes a car sound more throaty under acceleration but doesn't negate the "soft" idling sound... but then I realized you were riding in a tripple blk....

The existing threads have the info you're looking for. Nothing revolutionary has changed things as far as intakes are concerned.

Has anyone tried the "Secret Weapon" air intake? I think its about $110.00 and the titanium is about $225.00. My buddy loves his.

most of the intakes are going to be about the same. It is just a filter with a tube on the end of it so there isn't going to be much difference between brands. The true cold air intakes will probably give you more top end power but less low end. And the short ram air intakes will give you more power down low and not as much up top. The intakes will make some noise but it isn't a bad noise and if you have exhaust you probably wont hear it.

Most of the intakes will give you about the same gains and the gains will most likely be minimal if any at all. I personally wouldn't pay much for an intake. I would either piece together my own or buy a used one unless I could find one new for around or under $100 but that is just me.

People who see decent gains with an intake usually have it in combination with after market exhaust and a tune. Alone those mods wont do much but when combined you may see a noticeable gain in power do to a synergy effect.

I should bring up the possibility of hydrolock, too.

It IS a real possibility, and I've had it happen on my Integra. A cold air intake is not worth it.

My personal favorite is the Comptech/CT intake, but it's also not the cheapest.
