Either the airbag is faulty, or you turned the key on when it was unplugged. The plugs are different because the bags are different. Don't try cutting the plugs and swapping the 2 bags. It won't work.

No cutting of any plugs, I just took the ap1 bag (removed it with the tool) and put it in the ap2 wheel and everything clips in just like how i had it before. I think i did turn the key on though while it was unplugged...now, question is, how do i reset the light???

No, it wont reset like that, you need an OBDII scanner to enter in the SRS menu and reset the light.

the same happen to me last week and i try disconnecting the battery even for a complete day and nothing, so i connect the scanner in the OBDII diagnostic port and select the SRS menu and the code appear as: high resistance or disconected air bag circuit. just reset that code and youre ready.
