i did a search and i just want to see if anyone else was facing similar problems like i am.. the airpump is broken and to check it i took the vaccuum line off of my Injen intake and it didnt suck air at all.. and i had my local shop take a look into all the lines to see if they were connected or not.. is this a common problem on anyones S2ks? or just a few..? im also wondering if i should buy a brand new one and have honda put it on or buy a used/salvaged part and putting it on? would this be considered under warranty? thanks

I would think this is warranty unless you've done something to the pump that would void it.

The airpump doesn't suck, it's not supposed to suck anyway. It's supposed to add air to the exhaust (Using the chamber in the cylinder head which is covered by the 1 inch wide plate just above the exhaust manifold) on cold startup to help the Catalytic converter light up more quickly. The computer also makes the air pump run occasionally if th computer thinks the catalytic converter might have cooled down.

There are sensors to confirm that the airpump is doing its thing and it will trip an engine light if it's not... Do you have a check engine light on?

Ok. The only problem I have seen in any way related to the air pump system was the sensor that checks for air flow. It was not an easy diagnosis...

Good luck!
