Default Alaniz Modified Head

Finally got my Alaniz modified head. Thought I'd post the flow numbers. When I first opened the box I was disappointed because I specifically specified deep dish valves and he didn't put them in. But since I'll eventually be putting it on a sleeved block with 9:1 pistons, I guess its OK.

Fred, Did you get oversized exhaust valves and standard intake or is their a problem with the intake data?

I had asked for oversize intake ad exhaust, but looking at the receipt, it shows only oversize on the intake. That adds more to my confusion. I have a call into him. I'll let you know what he says. Did you ever post your flow charts?

Is this the head that you sent him months ago, that was supposedly cracked?

Just got off the phone with Joe. The valves are .5mm over on the intake and 1mm over on the exhaust. He said that for turbo systems he goes for max flow on the exhaust and only works the intake a little. He's the expert, so I'll take his word and see what the dyno says. Cumbustion volumes are 55.1cc vs. about 53cc for stock, so that should reduce the compression ratio to 10.4. With the cometic gasket which is double thickness, the CR should be down to about 9.6:1.

Do you really want to know?

And that doesn't include the cost of the new head. Oh well, as my wife says, "men and their toys"
