Default Alignment Problem

ok so i took my car for an alignment and the car started to pull to the right a few weeks later.. so i take the car back.. they say they cannot do anything about it because.. the caster? or camber? cannot be adjusted.. he said that i need to take the car to a frame shop or sumthin like that to get it fixed. i bought the car last month and it has been in an accident before.. my guess was that a knucke needed to be replaced in order to get the alignment to spec.

i hit a curb in my old civic and i had to replace control arm and knuckle thats why i guess that the knuckle is messed up..

i am not sure what was replaced to fix the car before i bought it but control arm looks ok and my only guess is that the knuckle is messed up. can anyone help me with this?

any alignment professionals can chime in on these specs?

i had an issue where my caster up front would not come into spec. the guys spent hours trying to work with the car, but it wouldn't budge.

they suggested replacing the control arms.

i ended up doing so and the alignment worked perfectly. everything came back into spec. i'm guessing i had a bent control arms or shot bushings, or both.

but, replacing control arms and bushings with OEM stuff (they come as a set) can get a little steep in price. but that's how it is.

good luck in figuring this out.

Those specs are all over the place, maybe another shop can do a better job. After looking over some of the numbers on your sheet, I noticed some were within spec before they did the alignment and now they are out of spec. That would make me question the quality of the job. So either your car is dicked up or the shop you took it to is...

It would not be a bad idea to take it to another shop.

My car is lowered 2 inches w/out a camber kit and I am still able to run within specs.

i used to be a tech at a collision shop and my part in the shop was suspension. and from these specs... it looks like they shifted your front right caster forward. but your front left caster is still in front of your right wheel when really, you want it the other way around or else the car will follow the crown of the road and drift off to the right. the roads are made to crown down towards the right for water and such. so you want the right wheel in front of the left a little bit.

also i noticed your cross camber is out as well. your camber from the front right went positive from them shifting your caster forward. so if you look at is... your front right wheel is positive camber and your front left is negative which looks like this "/ /"

everything is affected from your front right. looks like that is the side they tried fixing but failed really.... what i'd do is probably change the knuckle and strut.....but if you wanna get cheap about it... see if someone can heat up the knuckle (not recommended) but i'd rather change it... the knuckle replacement is for caster and as for camber, i'd get smaller bolts for the strut so that it can lean in a little bit and give you just enough negative camber...

let the bolts loose while the car is on the floor while it is not jacked up and use the weight of the car for it dip down and then tighten the bolts. you should see the wheel go in just a tad bit taking advantage of the space it has in between due to the smaller bolts.

hope that helps a little bit... let us know what happens...goodluck!

instead of replacing a part why not give less camber on the left and more camber on the right, and less caster on the left and more caster on the right.

from looking at your specs your car is going to pull to the right. car pulls to the side with less camber...car pulls to the side with less caster.

camber and caster on the s2k can be adjusted.

tell them to also adjust your rear camber or atleast match it from left and right...

from what i can see looks like your front right caster and camber was out of spec so they adjusted it back to normal but didnt adjust the left side because it was in the "ok" range, they gotta adjust the left too or atleast match the specs from left to right.

Your car is a MY02?
Driven in rain etc?
Then rust is your problem
Even when they force & turn the bolt to a position where it looks like the alignment is ok, after a while it probably turns back because the bushing was turning as well, or the rubber dislodged from the steel outer and/or inner bushing.
